Unk Dicko wishes all a Happy 2010 !

The New Year just's in as I am sitting at my blogging desk reflecting pensively about the year that just went by. What a year it was. So much had happened in 365 days that it would be difficult to summarise and compress all into a paragraph or two.

Guess I'll leave that reflection to another day. But for now, may I sincerely extend my BEST WISHES TO ALL MY FAMILY, FRIENDS,
FORMER STUDENTS AND COLLEAGUES, FELLOW BLOGGERS AND ALL VISITORS WHO ARE READING THIS.....

MAY YOU HAVE A BLESSED, HAPPY AND PEACEFUL YEAR AHEAD.
Photos: It's usually the gondolier who seranades you as he poles the gondola gently over the calm waters of Venice. Pulling out my ukulele, here I was seranading everyone as we cruised the romantic canals of this Venetian city, in December 2009.

Unk Dicko with the faithful ukulele all over the world, to Singapore and back on the romantic seranading of the Venice gondola.

Great memories forever!

Haha...C See, you are sharp and that lady captured the scenes since I was entertaining the Venetians and other visitors!

You did have a glorious time. Excellent. Life is for the living. Live to the hilt. There is lots of time to die. Viva life.

Hi there Thomas,
Your philosophy on life is in sync with yours sincerely!
Travelling with purpose and with eyes wide open is what I do.
Yes, we had a glorious time and came back understanding more about the past and appreciating the present better.
Btw, visited your lovely blog which is a good read. Pleasantly surprised that we have much in common...retired educators.
My regards to your better half too.

Hi Dick,
I have only just read through the recent blogs. We have been very busy with the latest grandchild but.... Happy New year to you too.

I was interested in your photo with the Ukulele. I always thought that we had one, which was given to my daughter when she was a teenager.

However, it looks very different to your own. Perhaps you or another blogger would know what it actually is?

Yours seems to be violin shaped but mine is an oval shape with a rounded back.
Is there a way for me to upload a photo of it?

Great to read you blog by the way.

Best wishes Annie

Hi Anne,
Welcome back! If you could send the photo of that ukulele to me by email I might be able to ascertain what kind of ukulele it actually is.
Pl send to my Gmail address ( same one I used to forward the NKC mp3 to you).
Btw, any of you play the ukulele?
Need any help?
I'll be glad to advise.
