Inseparable Friends!

Here are two sets of close and happy buddies.

And here is our good friend and Wuhan host HOD Mr Fu, who took great care of us while we were there recently.
He brought me a personal gift of a top Chinese Classical instrumental CD.
Whoa!
And a box of the famous Shenlong sesame candy chips...a well-known product of Hubei Province....for D2.
Mr Fu....XIA ! XIA !

Full Wuhan Group, Changi Airport

The hosting families and their guests were all so excited and ready to move off. Quick thinking on my part led to these couple of group photos. I felt it would always be memorable to capture them as a group as this is the 1st time that most have stepped into our country...and especially on their arrival at our famous Airport.

Some can be seen holding their cuddly gifts and bouquets of flowers.

There They are !

Many of the GSPS kids were carrying welcome gifts for their Wuhan buddies. I saw quite a few huge teddy bears and other soft cuddly huggables.
Most of the other passengers of that flight had emerged but a group 28 strong will need a little more time.
Eventually...I saw the Wuhan group trooping out towards their baggage retrieval area. There was a surge forward and hands waving frantically in excitement.
I too waved as Mr Fu, the HOD saw me...just after I took this picture of them still inside the area.

Then they were out!
Some walked gently towards their waiting buddies and hosting parents.
Others rushed forward to be re-united with each other, squealing and laughing in utter delight.

The more thoughtful ones introduced their parents and siblings to their Wuhan buddies.

S'pore WELCOMES WUHAN !

As the minutes ticked by....I could sense the excitement all around me. The kids, and even the parents ( Bless them ) were straining forward to look out for their guests inside the restricted arrival area near Belt 19.

There was a personal touch of creativity when a GSPS kid carried a colourful placard with the words,
" Welcome to Singapore....Shang Yi ! "
Also, Mini standing in front of the railing ,seemed to be praying silently for her Wuhan buddy to appear quickly.

WUHAN comes to Singapore ! 5 July 08

When D2 and I arrived at Terminal 1 Changi Airport, we were greeted by her pupils, teachers and parents who were all anxiously awaiting the arrival of the 25 pupils and 3 staff from Shui Guo Hu Primary School, Wuhan. The time was about 11.05 pm. China Southern Airlines flight
CZ 351 had landed safely and on time.
I whipped out my trusty camera to capture the scene.
Here I was with Isacc Foo and Melissa , GSPS teachers.

Here I am with 2 of my faithful ukulele followers....Mini and Sammi. I had introduced the musical instrument to them last month at their school.
